Sustainability

Your corporate and product carbon footprints, calculated from your own data.

We calculate two footprints: your corporate carbon footprint (CCF) across the business, and a product carbon footprint (PCF) for a single product.

CCF · Corporate carbon footprint

Your whole company, Scope 1, 2 and 3.

Groundley calculates your corporate carbon footprint across Scope 1, Scope 2 and upstream Scope 3, aligned with the GHG Protocol. For most companies the biggest and hardest part is Scope 3, the emissions sitting in everything you buy.

Where you have better data, you can use it. Meter readings, fuel consumption and supplier-specific emissions take priority, category by category.

PCF · Product carbon footprint

One product, from raw material to your gate.

Each product footprint covers four stages, from raw material to your factory gate. Downstream stages like product use and end-of-life sit outside the boundary.

It is built from your bill of materials, so the answer rests on your own material data rather than a sector average.

Raw materials

The materials and purchased components in your bill of materials, matched to emission factors.

Third-party production

Processing done by external manufacturers on materials you own.

Transport to your site

Inbound logistics, calculated from distance, transport mode and weight.

Your own production

The emissions from your own production and operations, allocated to each product.

What the platform calculates.

CCF

Full scope coverage

Scope 1, Scope 2 and upstream Scope 3, following the GHG Protocol. See the split, the trend over time, and every category behind it.

CCF

Scope 3 from your invoice lines

Myna maps your categorised spend onto recognised emission factors. The hardest part of a footprint, built from data already in the platform.

CCF

Better data where you have it

Add meter readings, fuel consumption and supplier-specific emissions. They take priority over the spend-based estimates, category by category.

PCF

Product carbon footprints

A cradle-to-gate footprint per product, built from your bills of materials. From raw materials to the moment it leaves your factory gate.

CCF and PCF

Factors with provenance

Every emission factor carries its source, region and year, drawn from recognised government, industry and life-cycle databases.

CCF

Your own carbon dashboards

Build emission boards the same way you build spend boards. Pick the views that matter to your reporting and keep them up to date automatically.

Method

Built on recognised standards.

Carbon numbers are only useful if you can defend them. Groundley's methodology is written down, follows recognised standards, and is clear about where estimates are used.

Groundley calculates your emissions. Calculated footprints are estimates, and independent verification or assurance is a separate exercise that stays with your own auditors.

Customer stories

What this looks like for the teams doing the reporting.

2 months → hoursto measure our CCF and calculate every PCF

Nybo Workwear sell thousands of products. Measuring the annual corporate footprint and calculating a product footprint for every one of them was a manual job that took months of each reporting cycle.

"Groundley helped us cut the time needed for carbon accounting from two months to a few hours. We get the reporting done with minimal resources, and I trust the numbers as much as my own finance team."
Uffe Svane AalborgESG and Sustainability Manager
PCFs in hourson real data, not sector averages

Horticoop publish their footprint, so every number in it can be challenged. Much of it used to rest on sector averages, and when customers asked for the footprint of a specific product there was no granular data to answer with.

"Groundley is an essential tool for us to calculate and report CCF, and to have our PCFs ready within hours - both for reporting, for our customers' requests and for our environmental efforts."
Rikke Nedergaard JensenCSR, Process and Quality Coordinator
Weeks → same dayfrom invoice line items to carbon answers

Storvik's customers ask about emissions before they place an order, but the data sits across invoices and separate systems. Getting to an answer meant weeks of manual work and, often, estimates.

"What sets Groundley apart is the time they spend understanding our business and our objectives, and making sure the solution works for us. Their AI turns our purchasing and activity data, including individual invoice line items, into usable carbon data, helping us move from weeks of manual work to answers in the same day."
